Landscapes Formed From Human Bodies by Carl Warner

Knees and elbows become sharp peaks rising from rolling hills of hips and bellies. London-based photographer Carl Warner contorts, lights, and photographs human bodies to create these vast landscapes reminiscent of the rocky desserts of the American southwest. Warner focuses our attention on a single person within each piece, soin Warner's words"a body that is lived in becomes a place to live."

The impossible variation in color and shape of these Indonesian arachnids photographed by Nicky Bay is truly stunning. Olek Crochets an Entire Four-Car Locomotive in Lodz, Poland

In what may be her largest work to date, textile artist Olek completed a massive four-car locomotive entirely covered in crocheted technicolor camo. The artist didn't even pause to change out of the costume she wore to London's Animal Ball before hopping on a plane to Lodz, Poland and meeting her assistants for four days of almost nonstop crocheting madness.

That stuff in your mug can do a lot more than keep you awake at work today. Artist Michael Aaron Williams has been using coffee to paint these gorgeous portraits on ledger paper from the 1920's and 30's.

Diana Beltran Herrera's ability to capture the detail and motion of birds in paper sculptures is astounding. The feathers and wings of Herrera's birds appear to have such a natural fluidity that it is sometimes hard to believe they were crafted from carefully folded and cut paper.
